Metalwork
Metal İşçiliği
Special precision in every part, bespoke metal manufacturing.
Cutting, grinding, turning and welding steel in the workshop — frames, fixtures and structural details built by hand.

Bespoke metalwork encompasses the design, production, and surface finishing of metal components developed specifically for individual projects and orders, rather than relying on off-the-shelf catalog products. Using materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, brass, bronze, copper, and aluminum, we create both structural and decorative elements. Components are assembled via welding or bolted connections, while desired aesthetics and textures are achieved through grinding, polishing, patination, powder coating, PVD coating, or liquid metal applications. Our scope includes bespoke metal furniture, architectural elements—such as staircases, railings, partitions, and cladding—as well as retail fixtures and decorative accessories. As a custom metal fabricator based in Istanbul, we manage the entire process, from CAD drafting and cutting to welding, surface finishing, and on-site installation. The same team remains responsible for the project from the moment the order is placed until the final installation is complete.
"Design without memories" is an established manufacturer in Istanbul, specializing in custom metal furniture, project-specific metal fabrication, retail fixtures, architectural metalwork, and luxury metal finishes. Working in collaboration with interior designers, architects, and procurement teams, we utilize CNC plasma cutting, laser cutting, and manual lathe machining, alongside MMA, MIG, and TIG welding techniques. Our skilled craftsmen produce furniture frames for residential and hospitality projects, retail equipment, architectural partitions, decorative panels, staircases, and bespoke hardware. You can follow the entire process—from cutting, welding, and grinding to polishing and final surface treatments—by communicating directly with a single point of contact.

From the completion of welding to the achievement of the final surface finish, the production process involves multiple stages of grinding and polishing. Initial coarse grinding removes weld seams and surface imperfections. Abrasive blasting prepares the metal for specialized coatings, while the use of progressively finer abrasives ensures the desired base surface quality. Through polishing techniques, stainless steel and brass surfaces can be finished to achieve a satin, brushed, or mirror-like appearance. Patinated and aged finishes are created through a combination of chemical treatments and manual craftsmanship. Mild steel and stainless steel can be powder-coated in any specified RAL color. Liquid metal coatings are applied by expert artisans. PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating—a process carried out off-site—involves bonding metal vapor to the surface at a molecular level, providing a level of hardness that cannot be achieved through conventional varnishing.
Sheet metal fabrication is also conducted within the same workshop. Through cutting, shaping, and rolling processes, panels, brackets, and structural components are produced from mild steel and stainless steel. Steel tubing, used for furniture frames and architectural elements, is processed using circular saws. The scope of custom steel fabrication ranges from the creation of a single, striking piece to comprehensive, cohesive manufacturing packages designed for an entire project.
The process begins with CAD consultation and the approval of technical drawings—preparatory steps that are finalized before production commences. Fabrication, surface finishing, and assembly are all managed by the same team. In this way, the components do not change hands between the manufacturer and the various firms responsible for surface treatment, nor is it necessary to work with separate contractors at the construction site. The assembly team brings mobile welding equipment with them. Any adjustments required on-site are carried out by the very same metalworkers who manufactured the components.

Turning a welded fabrication into a finished piece involves several stages of grinding and buffing. Coarse grinding removes weld beads and surface marks, while abrasive blasting prepares the metal for specialist finishes. Progressively finer abrasives then establish the underlying surface quality. Stainless steel and brass are buffed to the specified satin, brushed or mirror finish. Patinated and aged effects are achieved through a combination of chemical treatments and manual techniques. Mild and stainless steel can be powder coated to any specified RAL colour, while liquid metal finishes are applied by specialist craftspeople. PVD coating takes place off-site, bonding metal vapour at a molecular level to achieve a hardness beyond that obtainable with lacquer.
Sheet metal fabrication is also carried out within the same workshop. Forming, shearing and rolling processes turn mild and stainless steel into panels, brackets and structural sections. Circular saws cut steel tubing for furniture frames and architectural components. Bespoke steel production ranges from individual statement pieces to coordinated fabrication packages covering an entire project.
The process starts with a CAD consultation and the preparation of drawings, which are approved before fabrication begins. One team oversees fabrication, finishing and installation, maintaining responsibility throughout without transferring work between separate makers and finishers or bringing in independent site contractors. The installation crew carries mobile welding equipment, allowing any on-site adjustments to be completed by the same metalworkers who originally made the piece.

Bespoke metal furniture, shopfitting and architectural metalwork
Bespoke metal furniture
Metal coffee tables, console tables, dining bases, bar-stool frames, decorative cabinetry hardware and one-off statement pieces. We work in brass, stainless steel, mild steel and copper, combining welded fabrication with hand-finished detailing. As bespoke brass and steel furniture manufacturers serving London and international projects, our specialist brass work covers everything from polished bar trims to dark-patinated cabinet pulls, drawing on a long history of commissions for hospitality clients and private residences. The pieces read as objects in their own right rather than catalogue components.
Shopfitting metalwork
Custom display units, point-of-sale fixtures, restaurant and bar fronts, integrated metal cladding and bespoke vitrines for retail and hospitality. We work in mild steel and aluminium where structure leads, in brass and PVD-coated stainless where the surface matters. Pieces are fabricated and finished in the metal workshop, then delivered and installed by the same team that made them.
Architectural metalwork
Large-scale architectural metalwork: bespoke staircases, balustrades, decorative screens, metal cladding panels, structural columns and feature walls. We specify Corten weathering steel for exterior work, mild and stainless for interior, with welded and bolted assemblies engineered to building-regulation tolerances. Every architectural metalwork commission begins with CAD modelling and shop drawings; nothing reaches the floor without it.
